This project set in Timbuktu becomes the manifestation of the labyrinth as library, providing a centralized location for the myriad of private libraries in the region that have worked to preserve thousands of texts over hundreds of years. The ramp acts as an internal and cultural promenade through a dense, patterned series of interiorized Woven Block structural bents. Two large ventilation chimneys borrow from the ancient baudgeers or wind towers to aid in cooling the structure and becoming a visible extension of the library into the city.
